  • Chamomile herbal tea packaging machine

Chamomile is the daisy-like flower of a plant in the Compositae family, native to Europe. The chamomile plant is about 30 cm tall, with a yellow center, white petals, and slightly hairy leaves. Chamomile is also known as Roman chamomile and German chamomile.

    A. Improve sleep quality: Chamomile contains apigenin, an antioxidant that binds to certain receptors in the brain, which can promote sleepiness and reduce insomnia, or chronic insomnia.

In one study, women who drank chamomile tea for two weeks postpartum had better sleep quality than women who did not drink chamomile tea. They also had fewer symptoms of depression, which is often associated with sleep problems.

Another study found that people who took 270 mg of chamomile extract twice daily for 28 days woke up 1/3 fewer times at night than those who didn't take the extract and fell asleep 15 minutes faster than those who didn't take the extract.

Of course, more detailed studies are needed to determine the extent to which chamomile tea affects sleep. However, if you have trouble falling asleep or want to improve your sleep, drinking chamomile tea is worth a try.

    B. Improves digestion: There is some evidence that chamomile may reduce the risk of certain gastrointestinal disorders by improving digestion.

Several studies have found that chamomile extracts have the potential to prevent diarrhea in mice. This is due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Another study in rats found that chamomile helps prevent stomach ulcers because it reduces acidity in the stomach and inhibits the growth of bacteria that contribute to the development of ulcers.

But more human research is needed to confirm chamomile's role in digestion.

Despite this, there are many media claims that drinking chamomile tea is soothing to the stomach. Traditionally, it has been used to treat several digestive disorders.

    C. May prevent certain types of cancer: Antioxidants found in chamomile tea have been linked to a lower incidence of certain types of cancer.

Chamomile contains the antioxidant apigenin. In test-tube studies, apigenin has been shown to fight cancer cells, especially breast, gastrointestinal, skin, prostate, and uterine cancers.

Additionally, a study of 537 people found that those who drank chamomile tea 2-6 times per week were significantly less likely to develop thyroid cancer than those who did not drink chamomile tea.

These findings are promising, but higher-quality human studies are still needed to demonstrate the cancer-preventive effects of chamomile tea.

    D. May benefit blood sugar control: The anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile tea may prevent damage to the cells of the pancreas that often occurs when blood sugar levels are chronically elevated.

The pancreas can secrete insulin, and insulin can lower blood sugar concentration, so the pancreas is very important to the human body.

In a study of 64 people with diabetes, those who drank chamomile tea daily with meals for 8 weeks had significantly lower average blood sugar levels than a control group who drank water.

In addition, some animal studies have shown that chamomile tea can lower fasting blood sugar levels, and it may also be beneficial in preventing spikes in blood sugar after meals.

Most of the evidence for chamomile tea's blood sugar-controlling effects is based on results from animal studies. Of course, there is hope in these findings.

    E. Improves heart health: Chamomile tea is rich in flavonoids, a class of antioxidants. Flavonoids have the potential to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, an important marker of heart disease risk.

A study of 64 people with diabetes found that those who drank chamomile tea after meals had significantly improved levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and "bad" LDL cholesterol, compared with those who drank water.

More research is needed to confirm chamomile tea's role in promoting heart health, but it certainly can't hurt to include it in your diet now.
