  • Why do many people like Ethiopian coffee beans?

Today, the development of our coffee market is increasingly sophisticated and diversified. The field of freshly ground coffee, in particular, is growing rapidly amid the new wave of coffee consumption.

Despite the repeated epidemic in the past two years, more and more coffee shops have taken root in the city, and more and more people begin to contact coffee, like coffee, and even make coffee by themselves.

Different from instant coffee and ready-to-drink coffee, the biggest advantage of freshly ground coffee is that it is fresh. You can feel more flavor unfolding and richer texture variation in freshly ground coffee.

So when it comes to freshly ground coffee, there's one country whose beans are often talked about by coffee fans: Ethiopia. I remember four or five years ago, it was a glass of Yegashefi that led me into the pit. Even now, when I don't know what to drink, I still choose beans from Ethiopia.

    --Ethiopia can't be ignored--

Of all the existing coffee producing countries, Ethiopia is one that will not go unnoticed. As the widely recognized birthplace of coffee, the quality of Ethiopian coffee beans has always been renowned in the world. With its unique fruity flavor and high cost performance, Ethiopian beans have become a regular on the bean list of coffee lovers.

Unlike many other coffee-producing countries, Ethiopia's coffee is entirely native to the wild or "semi-wild" plant, which grows on a plateau of 1,500 meters above sea level, covering about half of the country.

Ethiopia has the most diversified coffee growing system in the world, including forest coffee, semi-forest coffee, pastoral coffee and plantation coffee. It is also the home of Arabica coffee, so Ethiopia is also regarded as the "cradle of coffee", the coffee forest here preserves the most valuable coffee gene pool for the world.

Of course, this is inseparable from its unique and favorable geographical advantages. Ethiopia is located in the coffee growing belt, plus the relatively high altitude within the territory, also known as the roof of East Africa, the temperature difference between day and night is large, the impact of pests and diseases is small, very suitable for coffee growth.

Ethiopia has a large area of coffee cultivation, which has exceeded 15,000 square kilometers. There are thousands of different kinds of coffee in Ethiopia, each with its own characteristics. The altitude, climate, and thick volcanic soil all create favorable conditions for the growth of coffee.
